18 Minutes and Counting

Hey Guys! I thought I’d do a little update on my running progress. So six weeks ago I started the Couch to 5k app. Trust me when I say I was one of the most unfit people I know and this app was promising big things haha. It claimed I would be able to run 5k without stopping in 9 weeks, so I began.

Initially, I was properly struggling and found it difficult running even 1 minute and was stopping all the time. But, here I am 16 runs in and I’m now able to run 18mins with one break of 3 minutes, it has honestly shocked me. Anyway, I’m really enjoying this new fitness venture and I’m determined to complete the 9 weeks and continue beyond that. I’ve said to myself I’ll sign up for a charity 5k run soon which I’ll probably do when I finish the 9 weeks on the app so it pushes me to keep going and obviously it would be nice to raise some money.

I’m not saying I don’t feel like giving up every run because I definitely do but I haven’t stopped so far so that’s always good. Mostly I’d just like to say, if you feel like you could never be a runner, you 100% can. The app takes things at a good pace and nothing is rushed which is the only reason I’ve been able to see results. Never expect yourself to run half an hour straight away if you’ve never ran before but if I can do it, you can too.
